KPI is seeking to create technological skill and knowledge transfer to Bruneian capable talent base, instill a professional and competitive work environment and work ethic. In this way KPI will maintain its Quality Objectives and become a 100% localised professional consulting company. Localisation percentage of the Company will increase from 50% in October 2020 to 80% within 3-5 years. 

Company management - key experience

Warwick Newall

Managing Director

An experienced project manager and town planner, Warwick has worked on major government and entreprenurial developments in Australia, New Zealand and Brunei. In Brunei he has produced the Tutong District Plan, Floodplain Management Plans, Infrastructure Development Schemes, and undertaken numerous Environmental Impact Assessments. Most recently he has turned to food security infrastructure for mechanised rice, and land based aquaculture schemes. In 2018 he was elected a Fellow of the Brunei Institution of Geomatics.

Ir. Julian Fung

Chartered Engineer

Julian has 30 years of experience in Water Resources Projects, including water treatment and water supply, wastewater treatment and dams. He has worked with Consulting Engineering firms in the United Kingdom, Sultanate of Oman and Brunei Darussalam. Between 2009 to 2016, Julian was with the Brunei Economic Development Board heading their Infrastructure Division. Julian is an ASEAN Engineer, and ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE).

Ir. Laila Pehin Saleh

Chartered Engineer

Laila is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 20 years of experience in civil infrastructure projects, and oil and gas engineering. She has worked in New Zealand, Africa and Europe before returning to Brunei to establish Lylsens Consulting for management of infrastructure and oil industry projects. In July 2013, she joined KPI as an executive engineer to extend her involvement with governmental infrastructure projects, and is now the majority shareholder.

Noel Sia

Civil / Structural Engineer

Noel Sia is an engineer with 25 years of experience in engineering projects covering building and infrastructure works, mechanical and aquaculture technology, and electrical works including high and low voltage cable installation. He has worked in ASEAN region for 24 years and joined KPI in 2011 as a building and infrastructure engineer. He is now the Senior Engineer on hydrological and infrastructure projects.

KEY STAFF

Armando Libramonte

Head Draftsman

As an Architect and CADD Operator, Mr. Libramonte has some 18 years of experience in multi-disciplinary projects including residential, commercial and industrial buildings, using AutoCAD. He is also responsible for briefing AutoCAD draftsmen, liasing with team leaders for preparation of working drawings, and maintaining the Quality Standards for every project undertaken. He is in charge of all AutoCAD system management, upgrading and maintenance of computer hard disks, and involved in customising of in-house AutoLISP programming.

Muhammad Wafi Ramli

EIA/EMMP and HSE Officer

Wafi Ramli, holding a degree in Environmental Studies from Universiti Brunei Darussalam had since joined KPI in 2018. Wafi has been a key contributor to our team, focusing on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Monitoring, and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) on construction projects, and strategic project planning and implementation for various Brunei Government projects.

TIE

GIS OPERATOR & MODELLER

Tie is a cartographer with 5 years of experience dedicated to the meticulous preparation of development plans, drawings and maps at KPI. Upon joining the company, he contributed extensively to Brunei District Plans, Feasibility Studies and mapping geographical features on various projects for the Brunei Government. He prepared detailed land-use and development maps for large-scale infrastructure schemes and also interpolated LiDAR-based data to create 3-dimensional maps and digital terrain models utilising tools such as HEC-RAS flood simulation software.

Nicholas Salman Siggar

Civil Engineer

Nicholas did his internship at the company while undergoing his undergraduate studies before joining KPI as a full-time Civil Engineer. He is a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering graduate from Universiti Teknologi Brunei Darussalam. During his internship, he engaged in various tasks from measuring quantities to conducting environmental sampling. He was also exposed to SWMM (Storm Water Management Model) and EPANET program. Currently, Nicholas focuses on work inspections, construction drawing revisions and structural design.

Wendy Lagong

Office Administrator

Wendy is an administrator with a decade of experience in data compilation and community liaison for infrastructure projects in Brunei. She oversees the daily office operations and establish direct communication with government departments to ensure project information and development application compliance. Additionally, Wendy monitors project progress, costs and accounting, providing essential reporting to support the executive engineers and company directors.

Nur Azwanne Azureen Md Shah

Town Planner

Azwanne Shah, a Bachelor graduate from the University of Queensland, became a valuable member of KPI in 2021. Specializing in town planning and environmental schemes, Azwanne focuses on both urban and rural infrastructure projects. Her expertise lies in navigating the intricacies of town planning and conducting comprehensive environmental impact analyses.

Nur Bazilah Zainal Abidin

Environmental Officer

Bazilah is a newcomer to the company. She is a Bachelor graduate of Environmental Studies from Universiti Brunei Darussalam with varied professional backgrounds in the agricultural and geotechnical sector. In KPI she is focusing on Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP) and environmental investigative studies hence reflecting her commitment to ensuring sustainable practices in every project.
